Birthday Celebration No.2

Wow.. I'm just overwhelmed with knowing how blessed I am just having such great friends around me.

Tonight, after choir practice, I met up with the cell members for my b'day celebration no.2. This was very well organised by Chien & Michael (thank you soooooo much! x0x0) and I didn't expect it at all. I really thought it was just a get together dinner.

So when Amy and I got there, there was Chien, Mike, Gina, Davina, Sarah, Kenny & Victor. All up there were 9 of us.

Seven of us decided to go for a $25 banquet that is refillable!(cool hey?!) while Amy and Davina went for the cheaper $15 one which was not refillable. We had the best waiter ever. He is Thai of course and was so humble, charismatic, funny too! so he said to the two girls, for everytime you take the other ppl's food (meaning the ppl who orderd the $25 banquet), you will be charged $1. So the whole night, the two girls took it to heart literally and we were full on sneaking more of our food on their plate to try and asking them to eat it fast.. t'was so funny.

Then this was where the night became filled with more laughter and all these bargains thanks to miss Sarah, who loves to always bargain with whatever she buys and say she's a poor student (which she is, a 30y.o student but doing pHD!). So bargain no.1 came when she started the night by asking the waiter, can we also have spring rolls in our set menu (FOC or course!) and then she decided to use me as an excuse.. so she said 'oh not for me of course, for the birthday girl.. ' and before u know it a plate of free spring rolls landed on my plate.. and the waiter was smart saying to Sarah 'For birthday girl only, anyone who take from her must pay $1). So once again I chopped it in half and stuff it in Sarah's mouth quickly when the waiter went to back to the kitchen.. she burnt her tongue.. t'was soooo funny!

Then bargain no.2 came when a hotplate seafood tom yum came to our table and we were thinking this wasn't in the banquet list.. so we told him (our waiter) and he said 'ah.. already land on your table, you must eat, we can not take back!' so we were like.. wow! ok eat eat!

Then a birthday cake came out which was a total surprise to me and I knew straight away it was an ice-cream cake! my favourite! but then again mud cake is also my favourite.. aiya every cake is my favourite lah! anyhow, they switched off the lights in the restaurant and everyone including the other guests in the restaurant sung Happy Bday to me too.. gosh it was soooo embarrassing!!

Anyhow, then bargain no.3 came when we finished eating all the refillable green curries, stirfries, tom yum prawns, tom yum soup etc.. and Sarah decided.. let's ask for free dessert and so when the waiter came she asked, 'so what's there to eat for dessert?' then he did a spiel about the final piece of Thai custard cake which they import especially from Thailand (taste like tapioca kueh but a bit more custard texture) with coconut ice cream. So Sarah with her sweet smile unashamingly said.. 'ah! sounds very good, get one piece for the birthday girl? for free?' and I thought the waiter was going to say 'you wish!' he actually replied 'ok, I go ask for you!' and before you know it, the waiter had a whole plate of custard dessert which he put on my table and a whole collection of Thailand TShirts in his hand. He asked me 'which one you want? a Thailand t-shirt or the dessert?' I was more thinking 'the dessert of course! cos I know I wouldn't wear a t-shirt but everyone told me to go for the 't-shirt! as a memoir of tonight 'so I said 'the t-shirt!' and then smart arse Michael further did the bargaining by saying 'well look you already put the dessert on the table, and if it's on the table already, we must eat'. And the waiter played along and said 'wow, I heard that line before, ok you can go eat eat!'. It was soooo funny.. everyone just laughed and I ended up getting a free plate of spring rolls, dessert and a t-shirt! and I told everyone 'man next time he see us coming in the shop again, he will definitely hide and be scared of us tight arse ppl!' hahahaha.. But yeah, he came back to clean up the table and said 'if you all want a t-shirt, you have to come back to celebrate all of your birthdays'. That we will definitely do! I got his card and will make sure our next Coles Myer Team dinner will be held there. Food was pretty good and the price was even better!

Gosh tonight was such a great night.. really had fun not only eating great food but definitely being in the company of great friends.. ah.. every birthday always reminds me of just how blessed I am... God really loves me alright! *hehehe*
