JB in a nutshell

Yesterday was such a long day! My day began after I got sick of waiting for my ‘jie fu’ who couldn't wake up in time to take me to Plaza Pelangi. for my all important mission, shopping! So I decided to do the 15mins walk instead in the heat! It wasn’t too bad.

In one day, I spent around RM600!! (Mostly thanks to my work clothes of which I spent RM345 at my all-time-fav-shop MNA). One of the funny stories I encountered today was going to MNA and the shop girl thought I was Japanese so she dared not say a single word to me or help me for that matter. It was only after I spoke to her in Mandarin that she sighed in great relief and told me her misconception about me. Anyways, I ended up talking to her for like 15mins.

I stayed at Plaza Pelangi until 4pm then my cous Jeanne came to pick me up. We went to Tebrau City Mall which has the biggest Jaya Jusco department store in South East Asia. It was there that I spent another RM300 as they were having a 15% card membership sale! My legs were so numb from the entire day of walking so much so that I didn’t even realize that I had this HUGE blister btw my toes! It was painful when I accidentally burst it!

Anyways, we came home at around 9pm after getting Ezekiel’s (my cute nephew or second cousin as you would call it in the western society) favourite toy Bob the Builder house and family for like RM120! I tell ya the price on his face when he first saw the surprise gift was just priceless!

Cousin Jeanne bought ‘zi pao ji’ (chicken wrapped in paper) and ‘otak’ (omelet spicy fish)– the two famous dishes in JB for dinner. It brought back memories alright..

Today, I will be meeting up with Helen (who used to live in Australia and went to my church 2yrs ago) for lunch and more shopping of pirated DVDs in Holiday Plaza shopping mall. Then we will go off to Duty Free Shopping Mall near Eden Hotel with a view of the sea and the island of Singapore. Then tonight, my cousin will bring me to Danga Bay which apparently has a beautiful view of Singapore. I’ve been to JB for over 5 times now and I never ever knew my cousin’s place is near the water with a view of Singapore. I’ve always pictured JB as the city of shopping that’s it! Yes it’s sad I must admit, hence why I can’t wait to see something else besides just shopping centres!
