That was then, This is Now

What a journey it has been for Zita. Witnessing her life for the past 2 months since her break up with Julious 2 weeks before their wedding has proven to me that there is definitely 'a light at the end of the tunnel'. I have been with her during the entire process (since we see each other everyday at work). She told me how when you go through a break up, you can't help but have feelings of bitterness, frustration, resentment and sometimes even hatred towards your 'ex', blaming them for how things had turned out. There were times where he wanted her back, yet she knew she couldn't go down that path again as both of them shared very different life goals.

The crunch finally came 1 month ago, while still living in the same house (but in separate rooms), she found him internet surfing on dating sites. Then weeks went by and he had the nerve to go on dates after dates during the time while she was still living with him! It hit her hard that they were truly over. To have someone whom you used to think was your soulmate and then to have them dating someone else right in front of your eyes and only 2 months after the breakup is definitely what you call a stab in one's heart.

For the past 2 weeks, Zita had finally arranged for P&G Hungary to take her back. As sad as I will be to see her go, I know this will be the best move for her life. Hungary has always been where her heart is. If only Julious could see that..

So tonight, we held a farewell dinner for Zita at Ha Loong's Vietnamese Restaurant,Victoria St, Richmond. The food was great. The company was even better. I can't believe a year has flown so fast as it felt like it was just yesterday when Zita had first joined us. Now, fast forward time, what a tragic end it has been to what was supposed to be a happy ending to her fairytale.

On Thursday, Zita will finally pack her bags, leaving pieces of her past behind to start afresh a new chapter of her life back home in Hungary.

I am so going to miss her.
