Playing the 'Missus'

After Eugene successfully fulfilled two of his promises, it was finally my turn to fulfill my end of the bargain.

After church today, we drove half hour to meet our real estate agent named Michael.
So while driving in the car, I asked Eugene, what role do you want me to play? A girlfriend? a wife? a sister? I know it sounds really stupid but after experienced in the past that whenever a guy and a girl goes together for a common purpose (eg. shopping for jewellery, clothing, car, house etc) the salesman will automatically assume that 'we' are a couple. So Eugene replied 'Um, let's assume you're my girlfriend and that we want to buy a property each for investment'. 'Ok then.'.

After spending about 1hr with Michael, he finally broke his silence after we went for our 1st house inspection. We went through one of the rooms and he said to Eugene 'I'm sure you and wife will like this...' Eugene and I automatically looked at each other thinking to ourselves...'um wife?'. It was hilarious! And so automatically I knew I had to play the new role of a wife and not the girlfriend.

Anyways, after I dropped Eugene off back to his car, he replied 'ok see you later Mrs Loke'. Smartarse!
