It's official! Wongie is leaving us!

Got a sms from Wongie this morning at 10am to say 'I got the offer! I'm going to Japan!'. Her sudden change of plan for her life to teach English in Japan for 1yr has finally come into reality. Despite her not knowing a word of Japanese or the culture, she is still adamant on going.

I'm half happy for her but also half sad for her.. especially when this will mean Glenn and herself will be doing a 1yr long distance... something I know from experience that it's such a painful thing for the human heart. But if they both supports this move, then good on Wongie for taking the courage to do this before she's a married woman.

June won't be far off from now. Already, this is only the beginning of many more close friends of mine packing their bags leaving the country for the longer term... sigh.. This is life I guess. Saying goodbyes are just one element of it.
